They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Claudinei Carneiro made a kick off. Claudinei Carneiro had several of the Sertaosinho's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 52 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-2 score and a disappointed Jerônimo Machado as he didn't even see the shot coming. Juvenal Bittencourt could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but Jerônimo Machado made a huge save. 61 minutes into the match, Umberto Pereira dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Jerônimo Machado, 0-3. Sertaosinho's Jerônimo Machado proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save Sertaosinho from getting a goal against them. Juvenal Bittencourt scored 0-4 in the 70th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jerônimo Machado, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Luiz Fabiano Marquez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sertaosinho's supporters rose to their feet, but Luiz Fabiano Marquez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Muraipinima would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
