When the match had gone on for 9 minutes, Claudinei Novaes put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Marcelinho Martins. 18 minutes into the match, Tuiutinga's goal looked a bit too open when Clóvis Machado came free, but Marcelinho Martins reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Claudinei Novaes in the 19th minute of play forced Tuiutinga's goalkeeper Marcelinho Martins to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marcelinho Martins showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Claudinei Novaes in the 28th minute of the match. After 28 played minutes Tuiutinga got a freekick which was hit by Luiz Fabiano Damião. Tuiutinga were furious when Oséias Meirelles was red carded, 31 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. A collision led to Caranahyba-rs getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Claudinei Novaes hit a great ball. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Luan Jacinto was the one to do the kick off. If Jairo Ortiz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 54th minute, Pablo Picasso got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A hard shot 58 in the game by Claudinei Novaes from a close distance when the talented Marcelinho Martins managed to make a qualified save. Tuiutinga's players were relieved. Caranahyba-rs's supporters crossed their fingers, but Claudinei Novaes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Caranahyba-rs's Claudinei Novaes got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Claudinei Novaes received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Marcelinho Martins came out and tried to block the shot, but Claudinei Novaes slotted it home off the left post making it 0-4 in the 74th minute. After 78 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Tuiutinga! In the 78th minute there was a penalty for Caranahyba-rs. Claudinei Novaes stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Marcelinho Martins. 0-5. When Claudinei Novaes came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Caranahyba-rs fans jumped to their feet. Claudinei Novaes had several of the Tuiutinga's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 83 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-6 score and a disappointed Marcelinho Martins as he didn't even see the shot coming. Claudinei Novaes was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 87th minute. Caranahyba-rs's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Caranahyba-rs's Anderson Albuquerque got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Pablo Picasso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 94 minutes into the match, Caranahyba-rs's Claudinei Novaes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Marcelinho Martins narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Tuiutinga's zone, Ernani Cavalcante stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcelinho Martins came out of the goal and Ernani Cavalcante tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
