Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rogério Severo in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Antônio Mangueira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Nilson Cabral got free in front of the goal in the 26th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Antônio Mangueira was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Rogério Severo struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Antônio Mangueira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Namorado. If Nilson Cabral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rogério Severo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 45th minute Rogério Severo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antônio Mangueira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Pontezinha's zone, Rogério Severo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Antônio Mangueira came out of the goal and Rogério Severo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Jano Pitta made the kick off in the second half. Nilson Cabral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rogério Severo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Namorado's Nilson Cabral got a free kick in the 64th minute. 66 minutes into the match, Nilson Cabral had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Antônio Mangueira. Pontezinha's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nilson Cabral was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. In the 71st match minute, Namorado was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ademar Romero to maneuver through the defense. Sabino Mangueira struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Egídio Ramalho didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pontezinha. After a defensive mix-up in Pontezinha's zone, Nilson Cabral stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pontezinha's Antônio Mangueira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raimundo Prata in the 82nd minute of play. If Jano Pitta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Antônio Mangueira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nilson Cabral, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Raimundo Prata fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Antônio Mangueira having to interfere. Antônio Mangueira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rogério Severo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 96 minutes into the game, Jano Pitta was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Pontezinha's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Namorado the free kick. In the 96th minute, Jano Pitta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
