Nilson Cabral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Namorado's Rogério Severo managed to work through Cabanha-JF's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Rogério Severo dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. 27 minutes into the match, Nilson Cabral had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Elder Leal. Cabanha-JF's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nilson Cabral was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rogério Severo in the 31st minute of play forced Cabanha-JF's goalkeeper Elder Leal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jano Madureira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Egídio Ramalho having to interfere. Elder Leal came out of the goal in the 36th minute to try and stop a shot by Namorado's Nilson Cabral. But to his dismay, Nilson Cabral quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Nilson Cabral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elder Leal having to interfere. After some careless play in the Cabanha-JF defense, Nilson Cabral kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Elder Leal. The Cabanha-JF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Elder Leal should have stopped the shot. After 47 minutes, Marcelinho Arantes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cabanha-JF and the Namorado players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 47th minute, Marcelinho Arantes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rogério Severo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Marcelinho Arantes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Egídio Ramalho having to interfere. Nilson Cabral received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Elder Leal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 60 minutes into the match, Cabanha-JF's goalkeeper Elder Leal had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nilson Cabral. Cabanha-JF's Elder Leal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rogério Severo in the 61st minute of play. Egídio Ramalho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jano Madureira in the 63rd minute of play. Eusébio Félix fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Egídio Ramalho having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Cabanha-JF's Michel Couto got a free kick in the 67th minute. After having played for 71 minutes, Nilson Cabral managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Namorado's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nilson Cabral was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rogério Severo in the 73rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Elder Leal prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 75 minutes into the match, Nilson Cabral had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Elder Leal. Cabanha-JF's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nilson Cabral was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. When Eusébio Félix came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Cabanha-JF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eusébio Félix couldn't finish the play. If Rogério Severo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a defensive mix-up in Cabanha-JF's zone, Nilson Cabral stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Elder Leal came out of the goal and Nilson Cabral tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rogério Severo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Elder Leal having to make a save. After a rather tough play, Cabanha-JF's Adilson Trigo got a free kick in the 88th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Nilson Cabral managed to get in a good position for a shot. Namorado's supporters rose to their feet, but Nilson Cabral was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Elder Leal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Elder Leal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rogério Severo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cabanha-JF's Eusébio Félix got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rogério Severo in the 97th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Elder Leal saved Cabanha-JF from getting behind.
