Victor Matos's late challenge caught a GOIAS ESPORTE CLUBE's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Victor Matos helped the player get up and apologised. Olívio Ferraz, 18 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. If Digo Guerra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. After having played for 24 minutes, Digo Guerra managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. GOIAS ESPORTE CLUBE's supporters crossed their fingers, but Digo Guerra was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. GOIAS ESPORTE CLUBE's Nuno Eger got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 33rd minute, Nuno Eger got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Digo Guerra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Arí Lima tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luisão Marinho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ricardinho Carvalho read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 56th minute of play. Arí Lima showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nuno Eger, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Victor Matos was shown his second yellow card after 66 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match.
