Abel Cunha made a fantastic save in the 55th minute, when Vicente Gaspar sent off a good shot on target. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gildo Montenegro in the 57th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Abel Cunha saved Brinco from getting behind. Gildo Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. A collision led to Brinco getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Davi Loyola hit a great ball. Paulo Renato da Silva showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from João Teixeira, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, João Teixeira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Brinco's supporters rose to their feet, but João Teixeira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Paulo Renato da Silva breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
