After 13 played minutes Itacara FC got a freekick which was hit by Luciano Rossi. Itacara FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 16th minute, when Armandinho Mumbach scored to the left of an out of position Valdo de Godoy, making the score, 2-0. Itacara FC's Róbson de Amorim got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Valdo de Godoy was a little too slow when Armandinho Mumbach got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 25th minute. The score was now 3-0. João Pedro Neves kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Armandinho Mumbach in the 32nd minute of play forced Itacara FC's goalkeeper Valdo de Godoy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Valdo de Godoy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from João Pedro Neves in the 34th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bernt Hansson during the 36th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 36th match minute, Pains was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bernt Hansson to maneuver through the defense. Valdo de Godoy was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After some careless play in the Itacara FC defense, Evaristo Varela kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Valdo de Godoy. The Itacara FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Valdo de Godoy should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Pains's zone, Luciano Rossi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pedro Melo came out of the goal and Luciano Rossi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 69th minute, Armandinho Mumbach made a precise shot to the right of Valdo de Godoy. Itacara FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 7-0. Itacara FC's Valdo de Godoy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Pedro Neves in the 73rd minute of play. After some careless play in the Itacara FC defense, Armandinho Mumbach kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Valdo de Godoy. The Itacara FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Valdo de Godoy should have stopped the shot. The referee ignored Itacara FC's protests and gave Luciano Rossi a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Pains booed when Itacara FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Flávio Queirós didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Itacara FC getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Fiori Linhares hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcelo Pirani in the 91st minute of play forced Itacara FC's goalkeeper Valdo de Godoy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luciano Rossi blasted a shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Pedro Melo having to make a save. In the 96th minute João Pedro Neves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valdo de Godoy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pains walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
