Kaká Marques took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 13th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Hílton Martins. Pequy EC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Ramiro Abraão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cássio Meireles in the 16th minute of play. In the 19th minute, Christiano Cabral got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Elano Arce had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The supporters of Pequy EC booed when Mormaco was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alfredão Azevedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luizinho Teles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pequy EC's Hílton Martins played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luizinho Teles in the 31st minute of play. Mormaco's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Kaká Marques in the 32nd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Mormaco's zone, Bruno de Carvalho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ramiro Abraão came out of the goal and Bruno de Carvalho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Elano Arce scored 1-1 in the 36th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ramiro Abraão, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Elano Arce had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Elano Arce made a kick off. A collision led to Mormaco getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Kaká Marques hit a great ball. In the 53rd minute of the match Cássio Meireles shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ramiro Abraão showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Ramiro Abraão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bruno de Carvalho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Elano Arce managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pequy EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Elano Arce was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ramiro Abraão breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Bruno de Carvalho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zé Paes in the 60th minute of play forced Mormaco's goalkeeper Ramiro Abraão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ramiro Abraão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bruno de Carvalho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 64 minutes of play, Pequy EC's Zé Paes made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ramiro Abraão was left in no man's land by his defense there! With a couple of smart ball manuevers Elano Arce in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ramiro Abraão saved Mormaco from getting behind. In the 72nd minute, Elano Arce got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Elano Arce managed to get in a good position for a shot. Zé Paes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 86th minute Cássio Meireles suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. Alfredão Azevedo charged in rather forcefully in the 87th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alfredão Azevedo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Pequy EC's Tomás Damião was substituted for Cássio Meireles. After 88 played minutes Mormaco got a freekick which was hit by Alfredão Azevedo. If Elano Arce had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee ended the match the Pequy EC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
