Claudinho Esteves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amílton Neiva, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. 11 minutes into the match, Renan de Castro had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Claudinho Esteves. Taubate's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Renan de Castro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. A collision led to Artocarpus E.C. getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Nilton Maranhense hit a great ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-7 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Deivid Toledo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomé Godoi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nilton Maranhense's late challenge caught a Taubate's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nilton Maranhense helped the player get up and apologised. Taubate's Claudinho Esteves proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 60th minute of the match, managed to save Taubate from getting a goal against them. Claudinho Esteves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abel Saraiva in the 62nd minute of play. In the 65th match minute, Artocarpus E.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eliodor Suluțiu to maneuver through the defense. In the 66th minute of the match Hernani Vargas shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Deivid Toledo showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Claudinho Esteves was a little too slow when Abel Saraiva got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 69th minute. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aleksander Rudkvist couldn't finish the play. Eliodor Suluțiu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Claudinho Esteves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Artocarpus E.C.'s zone, Tomé Godoi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Deivid Toledo came out of the goal and Tomé Godoi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Vitinho de Amaral kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. 90 minutes into the match, Taubate's goal looked a bit too open when Aleksander Rudkvist came free, but Claudinho Esteves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 92 minutes into the game, Ezequiel Valle threw the ball into play from the sideline. Artocarpus E.C.'s Abel Saraiva quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Claudinho Esteves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aleksander Rudkvist, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 96 minutes into the match, Taubate's goalkeeper Claudinho Esteves had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Renan de Castro. Artocarpus E.C.'s supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
