The crowd rose to their feet as Chile's Arlindo Donato slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Josué Senna. That made the score 2-0 after 10 minutes of play. When Arlindo Donato, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 14 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Josué Senna was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. If João Carlos Dante had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 18 played minutes Chile got a freekick which was hit by Renatinho Quirino. With his leg Josué Senna managed to avoid a goal in the 22ndth minute, when Chile's Fernão Madureira fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Josué Senna showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arlindo Donato, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. In the 29th minute Arlindo Donato shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Josué Senna saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arlindo Donato received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Josué Senna tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 40 minutes into the match, Diego show's goal looked a bit too open when Arlindo Donato came free, but Josué Senna reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Diego show's Josué Senna played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arlindo Donato in the 46th minute of play. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 47th minute, but Josué Senna got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving Diego show hanging dry this time. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. João Carlos Dante was the one to do the kick off. Josué Senna showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fernão Madureira in the 51st minute of the match. In the 52nd minute Renatinho Quirino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Josué Senna saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Chile's zone, Ismael Motta stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luiz Fernando Barros came out of the goal and Ismael Motta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fernão Madureira in the 57th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Josué Senna saved Diego show from getting behind. 61 minutes into the match, Diego show's goal looked a bit too open when Fernão Madureira came free, but Josué Senna reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 69th minute the ball was on its way in behind Diego show's goalkeeper Josué Senna, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ismael Motta hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. If Arlindo Donato had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Fernão Madureira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arlindo Donato scored 4-0 in the 76th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Josué Senna, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Josué Senna took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Renatinho Quirino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Chile's Arlindo Donato got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fernão Madureira in the 88th minute of play forced Diego show's goalkeeper Josué Senna to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fernão Madureira struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Josué Senna didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chile. Josué Senna showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Renatinho Quirino, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. Chile walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
