Toriba's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Fidalgo the free kick. Sidnei Dias hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. The referee ignored Toriba's protests and gave Afonso de Salles a yellow card for diving instead. Afonso de Salles hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Vladimir Mazza who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 37thth minute tested the skills of Gualter de Queiroz when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Vladimir Mazza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 44th minute of the match, Vladimir Mazza got a very nice opportunity to score, but Gualter de Queiroz was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After some fancy dribbling in the 48th minute, Vladimir Mazza managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fidalgo's supporters rose to their feet, but Vladimir Mazza was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gualter de Queiroz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The supporters of Toriba booed when Fidalgo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Manfredo dos Santos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gualter de Queiroz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vladimir Mazza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sílvio Luiz Ramos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Silas Pinheiro's shot from short distance in the 60th minute. In the 67th minute, Vladimir Mazza left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Fidalgo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. 73 minutes into the match, Fidalgo's goal looked a bit too open when Silas Pinheiro came free, but Sílvio Luiz Ramos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luciano de Carvalho kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match.
