In the 3rd minute, Caco da Rocha made a precise shot to the right of Fernandinho Urbano. Escurial's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. After having played for 8 minutes, Percy de Mendonça managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Escurial's supporters crossed their fingers, but Percy de Mendonça was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Fernandinho Urbano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Caco da Rocha in the 10th minute of the match. David Montenegro was a little too slow when Dedê Varela got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 11th minute. The score was now 1-1. 19 minutes into the match, Sucesso's goalkeeper David Montenegro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Adalberto de Senna. David Montenegro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dedê Varela's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. David Montenegro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dedê Varela in the 21st minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Dedê Varela's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but David Montenegro was relentless in the 29th minute of the game. Hernani Furlan struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. David Montenegro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Escurial. 35 minutes into the match, Escurial's goal looked a bit too open when Caco da Rocha came free, but Fernandinho Urbano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The wind increased when Dedê Varela made the kick off in the second half. In the 54thth minute of the game Percy de Mendonça who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sucesso's David Montenegro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 55th minute, Percy de Mendonça left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Escurial fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-2. David Montenegro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dedê Varela, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Escurial were awarded a corner in the 61th minute after Sucesso's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Manuel Toscano took the corner. Nico Zanette made a great header on Escurial's corner, it was just that Sucesso's David Montenegro managed to reach the ball for a save. After 64 minutes, Osvaldo de Lima mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sucesso and the Escurial players grew even worse after the yellow card. Osvaldo de Lima hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Manuel Toscano's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but David Montenegro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 65th minute of play. Osmar Seco was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 80 minutes into the match. After having played for 84 minutes, Percy de Mendonça managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Escurial's supporters crossed their fingers, but Percy de Mendonça was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. David Montenegro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Hernani Furlan went, in the 87th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-2 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Caco da Rocha in the 90th minute of play forced Escurial's goalkeeper Fernandinho Urbano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Escurial getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Hernani Furlan hit a great ball. Renato Reis could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 93rd minute of the match, but Fernandinho Urbano made a huge save. If Hernani Furlan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 98 minutes into the match, Escurial's Hernani Furlan sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that David Montenegro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Escurial had played much better football throughout.
