Spectators: 7135 (Terracing: 5353, Seating: 1641, VIP seats: 141) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Donato Queirós started the match with the kick off. When Vicente Porto came up free with the goalie in the 2nd minute, the Dragões do Sul fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vicente Porto couldn't finish the play. 4 minutes into the game, Márcio de Amorim was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Brasilia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Dragões do Sul the free kick. In the 4th minute, one of Brasilia:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Brasilia. Dragões do Sul's Vicente Porto got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Edu Matorin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mané Passos, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Edu Matorin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Patrick de Almeida in the 16th minute. In the 19th match minute, Dragões do Sul was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zé Roberto Gaúcho to maneuver through the defense. In the 20thth minute of the game Donato Queirós who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Dragões do Sul's Alexsandro Vidal was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Rui Messias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alexsandro Vidal having to interfere. Alexsandro Vidal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Donato Queirós in the 24th minute of play. Agnaldo de Senna took the ball and in the 27 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alexsandro Vidal. Alexsandro Vidal dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Edu Matorin was out of position in the 32 minute of play, and Patrick de Almeida capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Patrick de Almeida really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. Donato Queirós recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Renato Velloso fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Dragões do Sul's protests and gave Renato Velloso a yellow card for diving instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Hamílton Ribeiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Brasilia's supporters rose to their feet, but Hamílton Ribeiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alexsandro Vidal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Donato Queirós sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Rui Messias came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Brasilia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rui Messias couldn't finish the play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mané Passos to strike the kick off in the second half. Donato Queirós might have been able to make a better finish in the 53rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alexsandro Vidal. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Donato Queirós ran back to his position shaking his head. Donato Queirós struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Alexsandro Vidal didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Brasilia. Agnaldo de Senna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A hard shot by Claudinei Tepedino from long distance, 68 minutes into the match, got Alexsandro Vidal's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. With his leg Alexsandro Vidal managed to avoid a goal in the 71stth minute, when Brasilia's Donato Queirós fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Donato Queirós could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 73rd minute of the match, but Alexsandro Vidal made a huge save. Donato Queiróss short, quick shot in the 75thth minute got Alexsandro Vidal to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Alexsandro Vidal stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Donato Queirós's shot from short distance in the 78th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rui Messias in the 79th minute of play forced Dragões do Sul's goalkeeper Alexsandro Vidal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Donato Queirós sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alexsandro Vidal made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when Agnaldo de Senna sent off a good shot on target. Agnaldo de Senna struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Alexsandro Vidal didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Brasilia. If Donato Queirós had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
