Josué Queiroz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Silas Zonta having to interfere. Raí de Godoi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 15th minute the ball was on its way in behind Santanopolis AD's goalkeeper Silas Zonta, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 18th minute, Josué Queiroz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Silas Zonta made an important save on a dangerous shot by Raí de Godoi in the 22nd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Santanopolis AD's zone, Renato Pirani stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Silas Zonta came out of the goal and Renato Pirani tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 26 minutes, Raí de Godoi made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Santanopolis AD's Silas Zonta tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The crowd rose to their feet as Renato Pirani kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Silas Zonta. That made the score 2-0 in the 32 minute of play. In the 34th minute, Josué Queiroz made a precise shot to the right of Silas Zonta. Santanopolis AD's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. Gilvan Faustino kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Silas Zonta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Renato Pirani, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With 41 minutes on the clock, Hermínio do Vale commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 40 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Brinco SC! In the 43rd minute there was a penalty for Santanopolis AD. Gilvan Faustino stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Luís Fernando Mandrak. 3-1. Santanopolis AD's Silas Zonta proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 48th minute of the match, managed to save Santanopolis AD from getting a goal against them. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Renato Pirani recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Santanopolis AD's Silas Zonta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Renato Pirani in the 55th minute of play. In the 56th match minute, Santanopolis AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gilvan Faustino to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Brinco SC booed when Santanopolis AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sidnei Arantes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luís Fernando Mandrak yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-2. Raí de Godoi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Santanopolis AD's Luís Fernando Vander got a free kick in the 65th minute. Glauco de Queiroz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Silas Zonta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Brinco SC's Raí de Godoi in the 71st minute got a chance for a shot 71st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Silas Zonta was left in no man's land by his defense there! After having played for 94 minutes, Raí de Godoi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Brinco SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Raí de Godoi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Santanopolis AD's Silas Zonta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raí de Godoi in the 97th minute of play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Brinco SC fully deserved thier win.
