Matina's Alexandre Moraes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 8th minute of the match, managed to save Matina from getting a goal against them. Celsinho Toledo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After some careless play in the Matina defense, Celsinho Toledo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alexandre Moraes. The Matina fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alexandre Moraes should have stopped the shot. If Celsinho Toledo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice moves Diego Hermes could shoot a difficult shot in the 21st minute, which Alexandre Moraes however easily saved by the left post. After 25 minutes of play, Cavunge's Celsinho Toledo made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alexandre Moraes was left in no man's land by his defense there! Leonardo Sampaio struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Samuca Severo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Matina. Alexsandro Gerber hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. With his leg Alexandre Moraes managed to avoid a goal in the 35thth minute, when Cavunge's Diego Hermes fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Diego Hermes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alexandre Moraes having to interfere. In the 41st minute of the match, Diego Hermes got a very nice opportunity to score, but Alexandre Moraes was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Diego Hermes took the ball and in the 44 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alexandre Moraes. Alexandre Moraes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. If Beto Moreira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Diego Hermes to strike the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the game, Geovanni Nascimento was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Matina's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cavunge the free kick. The supporters of Cavunge booed when Matina was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Geovanni Nascimento didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Leonardo Sampaio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Beto Moreira fell near the penalty area in the 57th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Matina's protests and gave Beto Moreira a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Matina getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Beto Moreira hit a great ball. In the 66thth minute of the game Diego Hermes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Matina's Alexandre Moraes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 71 minutes into the match, Matina's goal looked a bit too open when Diego Hermes came free, but Alexandre Moraes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alexsandro Gerber hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Beto Moreira hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Matina's Claudinei Marquez got a free kick in the 80th minute. When Diego Hermes came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Cavunge fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Diego Hermes couldn't finish the play. Alexandre Moraes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jairo Saraiva in the 90th minute of play. After 91 minutes, Alexsandro Gerber mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Matina and the Cavunge players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Matina's Alexsandro Gerber got a free kick in the 91st minute. In the 93rd minute Diego Hermes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alexandre Moraes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alexandre Moraes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Diego Hermes in the 95th minute of the match.
