After some careless play in the Salvador Guardas FC defense, Joaquim Brito kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sandrinho Lara. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dalmo Almeida in the 41st minute of play forced Salvador Guardas FC's goalkeeper Sandrinho Lara to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 42 minutes into the match, Celebrande's goalkeeper Charles de Azevedo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Aírton Vaz. 46 minutes into the match, Celebrande's goal looked a bit too open when Arí Mendonça came free, but Charles de Azevedo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Osmar Maranhense to make the kick off. Flávio Teles had several of the Salvador Guardas FC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 92 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-6 score and a disappointed Sandrinho Lara as he didn't even see the shot coming.
