Remo da Mata showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eser Ünek, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. After a rather tough play, coritiba at's Vladimir Neves got a free kick in the 22nd minute. If Igor Schmidt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. Remo da Mata took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Igor Schmidt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 45thth minute of the game Igor Schmidt who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but coritiba at's Remo da Mata was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 48th minute Eser Ünek shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Remo da Mata saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eser Ünek to make the kick off. After 83 minutes, Eser Ünek made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. coritiba at's Remo da Mata tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience was convinced that Igor Schmidt's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Remo da Mata was relentless in the 96th minute of the game. When the match was over S C Corinthians Paulista could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than coritiba at throughout the match.
