After 35 minutes Picos FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Otávio Viana who took care of the corner kick. Otávio Viana made a great header on Palmira SC's corner, it was just that Picos FC's Iuri Branco managed to reach the ball for a save. If Luís Fábio Rocha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Fábio Rocha in the 39th minute of play forced Picos FC's goalkeeper Iuri Branco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 43rd minute João Paulo Nóbrega shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iuri Branco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If João Paulo Nóbrega had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Abel Pires showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from André Luís Rosado in the 52nd minute of the match. 53 minutes into the match, Picos FC's goalkeeper Iuri Branco had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by João Paulo Nóbrega. After having played for 65 minutes, João Paulo Nóbrega managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Palmira SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but João Paulo Nóbrega was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 66th minute, Palmira SC's Luís Fábio Rocha dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. 69 minutes into the game, Hugo Lopez was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Palmira SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Picos FC the free kick. Hugo Lopez hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. When João Paulo Nóbrega came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Palmira SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that João Paulo Nóbrega couldn't finish the play. 78 minutes into the game, Percy Vieira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Picos FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Palmira SC the free kick. In the 83rd minute of the match, Luís Fábio Rocha tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Iuri Branco saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 88th minute, Fiori Fernandes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 89 minutes into the match, Picos FC's Hugo Paes broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Luís Fábio Rocha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Iuri Branco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If João Paulo Nóbrega had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. João Paulo Nóbrega received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Palmira SC were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
