Marcel Urbano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lenílson Motta in the 31st minute of the match. 36 minutes into the game, PAPA FUTEBOL CLUBE's Geovani Domingues nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Marcel Urbano made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Raí Cruz to make the kick off. If Raí Cruz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Raí Cruz came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the São Gonçalo SF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Raí Cruz couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, São Gonçalo SF's Clemente Valle got a free kick in the 57th minute. Nico Machado took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 58th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Marcel Urbano. São Gonçalo SF's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Washington Oliveira's late challenge caught a São Gonçalo SF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Washington Oliveira helped the player get up and apologised. If Armindo das Neves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. PAPA FUTEBOL CLUBE's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
