Paulo Renato Mesquita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jânio Garcia having to interfere. Gerson Machado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Moisés Mendonça in the 22nd minute of play forced Caimbombo's goalkeeper Ademir Ortiz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Gerson Machado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jânio Garcia didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Horácio Ortiz went, in the 28th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gerson Machado in the 31st minute of play forced Caimbombo's goalkeeper Ademir Ortiz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Caimbombo's Cláudio Veloso got a free kick in the 32nd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Nautico FC's zone, Paulo Renato Mesquita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jânio Garcia came out of the goal and Paulo Renato Mesquita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 37 played minutes Nautico FC got a freekick which was hit by José Pedro Vidal. Tales Negri, 42 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Paulo Renato Mesquita made the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Paulo Renato Mesquita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Caimbombo's supporters rose to their feet, but Paulo Renato Mesquita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jânio Garcia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Horácio Ortiz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Jânio Garcia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulo Renato Mesquita in the 74th minute of the match. Gerson Machado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Ademir Ortiz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 86 minutes into the match, Horácio Ortiz had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jânio Garcia. Nautico FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Horácio Ortiz was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Anderson Koehler hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. Moisés Mendonça could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 95th minute of the match, but Ademir Ortiz made a huge save. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Caimbombo fans cheered their team off the field, for while Nautico FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
