The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Marcelo Silva showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Rony Arantes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dalmo Gerber having to interfere. Marcelo Silva was out of position in the 26 minute of play, and Otávio Salles capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Otávio Salles really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. Thanks to some nice moves Diamantino Galvão could shoot a difficult shot in the 30th minute, which Marcelo Silva however easily saved by the left post. Fenix PE's Marcelo Silva proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save Fenix PE from getting a goal against them. Marcelo Silva was out of position in the 40 minute of play, and Otávio Salles capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Otávio Salles really showed his touch with that goal: 3-0. Fenix PE's Marcelo Silva played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Otávio Salles in the 44th minute of play. 46 minutes into the match, Fenix PE's goal looked a bit too open when Amadeu Proença came free, but Marcelo Silva reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Otávio Salles in the 47th minute of play forced Fenix PE's goalkeeper Marcelo Silva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Otávio Salles was the one to do the kick off. Fenix PE's Washington Passos got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Agenor Toscano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Dalmo Gerber tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 61 minutes, Rony Arantes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fenix PE's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rony Arantes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rony Arantes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Dalmo Gerber tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Santos's Dalmo Gerber proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to save Santos from getting a goal against them. If Agenor Toscano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 67th minute the ball was on its way in behind Santos's goalkeeper Dalmo Gerber, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Santos's Dalmo Gerber proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to save Santos from getting a goal against them. Rony Arantes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Dalmo Gerber made a huge save. Rony Arantes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Santos's Dalmo Gerber played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agenor Toscano in the 78th minute of play. Rony Arantes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Dalmo Gerber tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 83 minutes into the game, Santos's Otávio Salles nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Marcelo Silva made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-1. When the match clock showed 86 minutes, the score became 4-2 when Rony Arantes sped through Santos's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Dalmo Gerber. 92 minutes into the match, Fenix PE's goal looked a bit too open when Otávio Salles came free, but Marcelo Silva reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rony Arantes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
