But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Juarês Cunha couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Juarês Cunha in the 15th minute of play forced Atletic Dildoa's goalkeeper Frédson Albuquerque to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Laércio de Almeida struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Didi de Alcântara didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Atletic Dildoa. Frédson Albuquerque showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Márcio do Vale in the 22nd minute of the match. After 23 minutes, Cristian Bittencourt mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Atletic Dildoa and the Mainart players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Mainart booed when Atletic Dildoa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristian Bittencourt didn't get a good kick on the ball. Frédson Albuquerque showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frederico Hermes, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. 28 minutes into the match, Atletic Dildoa's goal looked a bit too open when Edgard Monteiro came free, but Frédson Albuquerque reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Atletic Dildoa's Almir Sergipano got a free kick in the 40th minute. If Frederico Hermes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Laércio de Almeida managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atletic Dildoa's supporters rose to their feet, but Laércio de Almeida was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Didi de Alcântara breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Almir Sergipano made a kick off. Valério Dionísio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Frédson Albuquerque made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vinícius Sergipano in the 67th minute of play. Nestor Nunes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but Frédson Albuquerque made a huge save. Frédson Albuquerque didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 72nd minute, which inside left pole to 0-2.
