Lembranca's Daniel Neto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sérgio Arósio in the 2nd minute of play. 1-0 became the score in the 4th minute when Aílton Travassos elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. A collision led to Maracuja getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Jefferson Quintal hit a great ball. 18 minutes into the match, Maracuja's goal looked a bit too open when Dionísio Salgado came free, but Evandro Montenegro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Daniel Neto didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sérgio Arósio went, in the 22nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Lembranca's Daniel Neto proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Lembranca from getting a goal against them. After 32 played minutes Maracuja got a freekick which was hit by Zé Marquez. Lembranca's Pedro Augusto de Amorim couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Maracuja. Geovanni Medeiros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Evandro Montenegro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 40 minutes, Virgílio Jacinto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lembranca and the Maracuja players grew even worse after the yellow card. An unexpected shot in the 44th minute by Sérgio Arósio got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. 48 minutes into the match, Lembranca's goalkeeper Daniel Neto had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Aílton Travassos. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sérgio Arósio made a kick off. Maracuja's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Caetano de Sena in the 53rd minute. Caetano de Sena made a great header on Maracuja's corner, it was just that Lembranca's Daniel Neto managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 55th minute, Sérgio Arósio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Aílton Travassos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sérgio Arósio in the 64th minute of play forced Lembranca's goalkeeper Daniel Neto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Daniel Neto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aílton Travassos in the 65th minute of the match. In the 66th match minute, Lembranca was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jarbas Veloso to maneuver through the defense. Aílton Travassos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Daniel Neto read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 67th minute of play. A collision led to Maracuja getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. José Toscano hit a great ball. If Aílton Travassos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 74 played minutes Lembranca got a freekick which was hit by Geovanni Medeiros. 75 minutes into the match, Maracuja's Caetano de Sena broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. 77 minutes into the match, Maracuja's goalkeeper Evandro Montenegro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dionísio Salgado. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sérgio Arósio in the 79th minute of play forced Lembranca's goalkeeper Daniel Neto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sérgio Arósio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Daniel Neto having to interfere. Daniel Neto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aílton Travassos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Aílton Travassos took the ball and in the 89 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Daniel Neto. Daniel Neto dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. Aílton Travassos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal.
