Valdemar Leme had in the 10thth minute some difficulties stopping Dino Guimarães's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Tostão Recife kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. In the 14th minute of the match Valdemar Pinho sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dalmo Bastos skillfully saved the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, José Pedro Simão managed to get in a good position for a shot. Juerana's supporters rose to their feet, but José Pedro Simão was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dalmo Bastos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Blue Mountain State's Tostão Recife got a free kick in the 19th minute. Juerana's Luiz Rodrigues got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 22 minutes into the match, Juerana's goalkeeper Valdemar Leme had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Duarte Vides. Luiz Rodrigues fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dalmo Bastos having to interfere. Dalmo Bastos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luiz Rodrigues, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. In the 57th minute, Sidnei Ramos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Blue Mountain State fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Juerana were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
