Gualter Macedo had great luck who in the 16thth minute grab hold of the ball when Severino Rocha from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Severino Rocha got free with Gualter Macedo in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cesinha Carioca took the ball and in the 34 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gualter Macedo. Gualter Macedo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. After 41 played minutes, Serra E.C's Sidney Paraíba shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Rony Varela came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Serra E.C reached it. If Severino Rocha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Yan Baptista was the one to do the kick off. Yan Baptista received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Rony Varela came out and tried to block the shot, but Yan Baptista slotted it home off the left post making it 2-2 in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Cesinha Carioca's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gualter Macedo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 70th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Cesinha Carioca managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ourupu's supporters rose to their feet, but Cesinha Carioca was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Severino Rocha in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gualter Macedo saved Serra E.C from getting behind. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
