The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th match minute, AD OLIMPO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eugênio Souza to maneuver through the defense. Lúcio Bueno received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Ulisses Pitta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Flamengo United's Federico Calvino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Pernambucano in the 8th minute of play. The supporters of AD OLIMPO booed when Flamengo United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cléber Aguiar didn't get a good kick on the ball. Paulinho Viana kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. 15 minutes into the match, Flamengo United's Lúcio Bueno sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ulisses Pitta narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 19th match minute, Flamengo United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Walmir Zanette to maneuver through the defense. Cássio Valle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ulisses Pitta having to interfere. Ulisses Pitta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lúcio Bueno, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 42nd play minute Alfredão Favoretto came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Federico Calvino. 1-0. In the 45th minute of the match, Paulinho Viana got a very nice opportunity to score, but Federico Calvino was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After 48 played minutes Alberto Pernambucano rounded Flamengo United's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 2-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

When Flamengo United's Lúcio Bueno in the 61st minute got a chance for a shot 61st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye AD OLIMPO's goalie prevented a goal. With a little luck, AD OLIMPO's Ulisses Pitta got control of the ball when Lúcio Bueno tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Flamengo United getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Durval Fontes hit a great ball. Federico Calvino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Pernambucano in the 66th minute of the match. Lúcio Bueno fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ulisses Pitta having to interfere. Eugênio Souza kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. When Lúcio Bueno came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Flamengo United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lúcio Bueno couldn't finish the play. In the 95th minute, Cléber Aguiar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 96th minute of the match Tiaguinho Tróia shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Federico Calvino showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. AD OLIMPO had played much better football throughout.
