Thiago Castro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jaime Vinhas, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Augustus Futebol Clube's zone, Bernardo Romero stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sidney Messias came out of the goal and Bernardo Romero tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 27th match minute, MONTES CLAROS F. C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cláudio de Azevedo to maneuver through the defense. Thiago Castro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Patrício Melo went, in the 28th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Cássio Tepedino kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. 33 minutes into the match, Pedrinho Negri notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of MONTES CLAROS F. C.'s Thiago Castro. Thiago Castro was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. But to his dismay, Pedrinho Negri quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. In the 64th minute, Carlos Fernandes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Augustus Futebol Clube's Jaime Vinhas got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 73 minutes into the match, MONTES CLAROS F. C.'s goalkeeper Thiago Castro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jaime Vinhas. After a rather tough play, MONTES CLAROS F. C.'s Bernardo Romero got a free kick in the 74th minute. In the 78th minute, Jaime Vinhas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
