Alfredão Proença fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Francisco Zonta having to interfere. In the 7th minute Zacarias Mandrak shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Perivaldo Tande saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Zacarias Mandrak fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Internazionalii's protests and gave Zacarias Mandrak a yellow card for diving instead. After 10 played minutes Internazionalii got a freekick which was hit by Zacarias Mandrak. Perivaldo Tande took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hortêncio Hoffmann, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 13 minutes into the match, Náutico's goal looked a bit too open when Aloísio Leão came free, but Perivaldo Tande reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 15th minute, Zacarias Mandrak made a precise shot to the right of Perivaldo Tande. Náutico's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. 18 minutes into the match, Zacarias Mandrak had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Perivaldo Tande. Náutico's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Zacarias Mandrak was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. When the match had gone on for 22 minutes, Zacarias Mandrak put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Perivaldo Tande. Perivaldo Tande made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zacarias Mandrak in the 30th minute of play. After 31 minutes of play, Internazionalii's Zacarias Mandrak made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Perivaldo Tande was left in no man's land by his defense there! Renato Cerezo's late challenge caught a Internazionalii's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Renato Cerezo helped the player get up and apologised. After 35 played minutes Náutico got a freekick which was hit by Renato Cerezo. 43 minutes into the game, Alfredão Proença threw the ball into play from the sideline. Internazionalii's Cícero Loureiro quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Perivaldo Tande came out of the goal in the 44th minute to try and stop a shot by Internazionalii's Zacarias Mandrak. But to his dismay, Zacarias Mandrak quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-6. After the first half Internazionalii were leading 0-6. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alfredão Proença stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th play minute Zacarias Mandrak came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Perivaldo Tande. 0-7. Náutico's defense didn't have a chance, in the 59th minute, when Zacarias Mandrak scored to the left of an out of position Perivaldo Tande, making the score, 0-8. Náutico's Perivaldo Tande proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 66th minute of the match, managed to save Náutico from getting a goal against them. Náutico's Perivaldo Tande played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zacarias Mandrak in the 70th minute of play. In the 71st minute, Fiori Arruda hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Davi de Alcântara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Náutico's Alfredão Proença got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Davi de Alcântara in the 77th minute of play forced Náutico's goalkeeper Perivaldo Tande to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 78 minutes into the match, Náutico's goalkeeper Perivaldo Tande had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Aloísio Leão. Perivaldo Tande showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Laércio Veiga, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. When Thomás da Fonseca fell near the penalty area in the 81st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. Perivaldo Tande made a fantastic save in the 96th minute, when Adalberto Figueiredo sent off a good shot on target.
