Amadeu Vidal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bruninho Castro in the 5th minute of play. 8 minutes into the game, SOE FC's Bruninho Castro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Amadeu Vidal made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After a defensive mix-up in Guimarães FC's zone, Teodoro Branco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Amadeu Vidal came out of the goal and Teodoro Branco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sérgio Fernandezs short, quick shot in the 13thth minute got Caio Reis to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Guilherme Barbosa hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. In the 16th minute of the match Juvenal Rocha shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Amadeu Vidal showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Sérgio Fernandez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 24th minute, SOE FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Ezequiel Abreu fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Wesley Dracena hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. If Sérgio Fernandez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Wesley Dracena fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SOE FC's protests and gave Wesley Dracena a yellow card for diving instead. Guimarães FC's Ismael Alvarenga was substituted for Adriano Paraibano. The supporters of Guimarães FC booed when SOE FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roger Alcântara didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Willian Pernambucano during the 32nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Guimarães FC getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Willian Pernambucano hit a great ball. Guilherme Barbosa kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

52 minutes into the game, Teodoro Branco recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Amadeu Vidal. Teodoro Branco showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-3. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bruninho Castro in the 60th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Amadeu Vidal saved Guimarães FC from getting behind. Caio Reis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sérgio Fernandez in the 62nd minute of the match. Wesley Dracena was shown his second yellow card after 68 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After 68 played minutes SOE FC got a freekick which was hit by Wesley Dracena. In the 75th match minute, SOE FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Teodoro Branco to maneuver through the defense. If Sérgio Fernandez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sérgio Fernandez struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Caio Reis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Guimarães FC. Sérgio Fernandez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Caio Reis having to interfere. If Sérgio Fernandez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Guimarães FC manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing SOE FC to win.
