David Cabral charged in rather forcefully in the 8th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed David Cabral the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 8th match minute, Pinheiro FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by David Cabral to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Wellington Recife in the 12th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Glauco Simões saved Pinheiro FC from getting behind. In the 13th minute the ball was on its way in behind Muribeca's goalkeeper João Augusto Lago, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Eriberto Severos short, quick shot in the 15thth minute got João Augusto Lago to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After a rather tough play, Muribeca's Tiago Gabriel Albuquerque got a free kick in the 16th minute. Hílton Albuquerque did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised João Augusto Lago 18 minutes into the match. Waldir de Barros hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Hílton Albuquerque received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. João Augusto Lago tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Glauco Simões stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Wellington Recife's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. If Eriberto Severo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Glauco Simões took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tiago Gabriel Albuquerque, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. João Augusto Lago showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hílton Albuquerque in the 43rd minute of the match. 46 minutes into the match, Muribeca's Tiago Gabriel Albuquerque sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Glauco Simões narrowly saved just below the crossbar. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

A well done corner resulted in José Pedro Moraes drilling the ball in to score 1-1 behind Pinheiro FC's goalkeeper. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Wellington Recife in the 70th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Glauco Simões saved Pinheiro FC from getting behind. The audience was convinced that Wellington Recife's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Glauco Simões was relentless in the 71st minute of the game. Pinheiro FC's Hílton Albuquerque got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hílton Albuquerque received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. João Augusto Lago tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Eriberto Severo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wellington Recife in the 87th minute of play forced Pinheiro FC's goalkeeper Glauco Simões to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 88 minutes in the game, Wellington Recife fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Glauco Simões having to interfere. Pinheiro FC's Glauco Simões played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wellington Recife in the 92nd minute of play. Acácio Zonta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Glauco Simões having to interfere. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
