In the 3rd minute, Ciro Rosa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rubens Penha didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jaime Leão went, in the 7th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. When Ronaldão Soares came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Esse fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ronaldão Soares couldn't finish the play. Ismael Sampaio's late challenge caught a Esse's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ismael Sampaio helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Feitosa's Ismael Sampaio got a free kick in the 14th minute. After recieving a nice pass, Esse's Dida de Carvalho tried to score from far away in the 16th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Dráusio Motta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Feitosa's zone, Ronaldão Soares stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rubens Penha came out of the goal and Ronaldão Soares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 30 minutes, Ronaldão Soares managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Esse's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ronaldão Soares was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rubens Penha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jaime Leão in the 32nd minute of the match. Zacarias Lara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Gonçalo Maia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mazinho Mandrak blasted a shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rubens Penha having to make a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Ronaldão Soares managed to get in a good position for a shot. Esse's supporters rose to their feet, but Ronaldão Soares was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rubens Penha breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Esse's Jaime Leão in the 47th minute got a chance for a shot 47th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Feitosa's goalie prevented a goal.

Gonçalo Maia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zacarias Lara in the 56th minute of play. 62 minutes into the match, Esse's goal looked a bit too open when Zacarias Lara came free, but Gonçalo Maia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Yuri Galvão hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ronaldão Soares got free with Rubens Penha in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The audience was convinced that Jaime Leão's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rubens Penha was relentless in the 67th minute of the game. Rubens Penha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jaime Leão, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Feitosa getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Yuri Galvão hit a great ball. Ronaldão Soares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 80th minute Jaime Leão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rubens Penha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jorge Paraibano during the 82nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 82nd minute, Jorge Paraibano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 83rd minute Zacarias Lara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gonçalo Maia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dráusio Motta scored 2-1 in the 92nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gonçalo Maia, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Zacarias Lara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gonçalo Maia having to interfere. Feitosa's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
