Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Juvenal Romero got the match started through his kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Gil AD's zone, Cacá Secco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. João Carlos Azevedo came out of the goal and Cacá Secco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When PALMEIRAS GUARA's Igor Tinoco in the 4th minute got a chance for a shot 4th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Gil AD's goalie prevented a goal. Ronaldo Monteiro took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 9th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for João Carlos Azevedo. Gil AD's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After a rather tough play, PALMEIRAS GUARA's Cacá Secco got a free kick in the 10th minute. Claudinei Andrade made an important save on a dangerous shot by Samuca Prestes in the 12th minute. Claudinei Andrade showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Juvenal Romero in the 14th minute of the match. Igor Tinoco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Carlos Azevedo having to interfere. With a little luck, PALMEIRAS GUARA's Claudinei Andrade got control of the ball when Nelsinho França tried to sneak it across the goal line. 26 minutes into the game, Juvenal Romero recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Claudinei Andrade. Juvenal Romero showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Igor Tinoco in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg João Carlos Azevedo saved Gil AD from getting behind. In the 32nd match minute, Gil AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ademar de Almeida to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet as Juvenal Romero kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Claudinei Andrade. That made the score 2-0 in the 34 minute of play. If Igor Tinoco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 38th minute Juvenal Romero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Claudinei Andrade saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Juvenal Romero in the 47th minute of play forced PALMEIRAS GUARA's goalkeeper Claudinei Andrade to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

Claudinei Andrade took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nelsinho França, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Claudinei Andrade made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Juvenal Romero in the 55th minute of play. Ademar de Almeida hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Ronaldo Monteiro kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Dedê Campidelis scored 3-0 in the 62nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Claudinei Andrade, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Nuno Rezende recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Igor Tinoco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. João Carlos Azevedo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. PALMEIRAS GUARA's Claudinei Andrade played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nelsinho França in the 73rd minute of play. In the 78th minute Gabriel Galvão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Claudinei Andrade saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Igor Tinoco came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the PALMEIRAS GUARA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Igor Tinoco couldn't finish the play. Gil AD's Dedê Campidelis got his second yellow card of the match in the 80th minute. The referee ordered Dedê Campidelis off the ground. In the 81st match minute, Gil AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dedê Campidelis to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Igor Tinoco in the 83rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg João Carlos Azevedo saved Gil AD from getting behind. In the 85th minute of the match Edvaldo Albuquerque sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but João Carlos Azevedo skillfully saved the ball. Gil AD's players were relieved. Igor Tinoco might have been able to make a better finish in the 93rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over João Carlos Azevedo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Igor Tinoco ran back to his position shaking his head. For all the effort they put into the match, the PALMEIRAS GUARA players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Gil AD.
