The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Rondinha's defense didn't have a chance, in the 28th minute, when Josué Amaral scored to the left of an out of position Nelsinho Pimenta, making the score, 2-0. Germano Gerber took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Filipe de Alcântara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nelsinho Pimenta made a fantastic save in the 34th minute, when Josué Amaral sent off a good shot on target. Josué Amaral could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Nelsinho Pimenta made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Rondinha's Betão Lara got a free kick in the 41st minute. In the 45th minute of the match Hamílton Ramalho shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Germano Gerber showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Wilian Pinheiro to strike the kick off in the second half. After 52 minutes, João Adolfo Saraiva mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Taberoe and the Rondinha players grew even worse after the yellow card. When Josué Amaral came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Taberoe fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Josué Amaral couldn't finish the play.
