After a defensive mix-up in Imbirituba's zone, Amadeu Fernandes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rafael Cosme came out of the goal and Amadeu Fernandes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Samuel Esteves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Abelardo Vale tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 7th minute, Ramón da Cunha hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sílvio Meireles in the 9th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Abelardo Vale saved Ruilandia from getting behind. Vânderson Trigo scored 0-1 in the 11th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rafael Cosme, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Abelardo Vale made an important save on a dangerous shot by Samuel Esteves in the 16th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sílvio Meireles in the 21st minute of play forced Ruilandia's goalkeeper Abelardo Vale to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 23rd minute, Sílvio Meireles reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Abelardo Vale. The goal made the score 1-1. Samuel Esteves's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 27thth minute, Abelardo Vale skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 34th minute, Samuel Esteves got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Vânderson Trigo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Rafael Cosme tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rafael Cosme showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amadeu Fernandes in the 39th minute of the match. Giuseppe Saldanha's late challenge caught a Ruilandia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Giuseppe Saldanha helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Imbirituba's Benjamin Negri got a free kick in the 43rd minute. After the first half Ruilandia were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Vânderson Trigo to strike the kick off in the second half. Amadeu Fernandes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 65th match minute, Imbirituba was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gilmar Hoffmann to maneuver through the defense. The referee felt a red card was in order, 67 minutes into the game, when Adriano Dracena put in a rough tackle. In a very dangerous position, a player in Imbirituba fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 66th minute. Penalty! Rafael Cosme made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vânderson Trigo in the 73rd minute of play. Abelardo Vale showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Samuel Esteves, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. Rafael Cosme was a little too slow when Vânderson Trigo got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 78th minute. The score was now 1-4. Imbirituba's Rafael Cosme proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 82nd minute of the match, managed to save Imbirituba from getting a goal against them. Amadeu Fernandes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but Rafael Cosme made a huge save. Amadeu Fernandes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Rafael Cosme tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
