With a left leg Hugo de Sena saved Luciano EC from getting behind. 8 minutes into the game, Frank Goiano cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Hugo de Sena was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Paulão Simão stood somewhat misplaced when Ronaldão Schmidt came free in front of goal and shot 1-1 to the left of him in the 13 minute. If Toninho Pereira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Frank Goiano's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hugo de Sena was relentless in the 20th minute of the game. Hugo de Sena showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frank Goiano in the 21st minute of the match. In the 23rd match minute, União F C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hélio Koehler to maneuver through the defense. In the 24th minute of the match Mazinho Paraíba sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Paulão Simão skillfully saved the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sandro Ramos during the 28th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of União F C booed when Luciano EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sandro Ramos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Paulão Simão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Túlio Fernandes in the 33rd minute of play. After 34 played minutes União F C got a freekick which was hit by Enéas Maciel. 36 minutes into the match, Luciano EC's Túlio Fernandes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Paulão Simão narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Enéas Maciel kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. After recieving a nice pass, Luciano EC's Mazinho Paraíba tried to score from far away in the 39th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Hugo de Sena showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Toninho Pereira, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Túlio Fernandes was the one to do the kick off. After 55 minutes of play, Luciano EC's Ronaldão Schmidt made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Paulão Simão was left in no man's land by his defense there! Paulão Simão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Túlio Fernandes in the 62nd minute of play. 65 minutes into the match, União F C's goal looked a bit too open when Túlio Fernandes came free, but Paulão Simão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Luciano EC getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Túlio Fernandes hit a great ball. Túlio Fernandes charged in rather forcefully in the 69th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Túlio Fernandes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Túlio Fernandes hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Toninho Pereira struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Hugo de Sena didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for União F C. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Sandro Ramos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Luciano EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Sandro Ramos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Paulão Simão breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 81st minute Túlio Fernandes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulão Simão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 84th minute the ball was on its way in behind União F C's goalkeeper Paulão Simão, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Luciano EC's Waldir Mota got a free kick in the 90th minute. União F C's Abel Mineiro got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hugo de Sena showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frank Goiano, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. After 95th play minutes Ronaldão Schmidt shot 4-1, a short shot which went by Paulão Simão and just under the crossbar into goal. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Luciano EC fans cheered their team off the field, for while União F C had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
