After a rather tough play, Lanca EC's Emílio de Mendonça got a free kick in the 6th minute. In the 7th minute of the match Cauã Cabral sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jaime Porto skillfully saved the ball. Jaime Porto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pedrinho Bueno, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. Lanca EC's Jaime Porto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pedrinho Bueno in the 12th minute of play. 0-1 became the score in the 14th minute when Andrézinho Viana elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. The supporters of Lanca EC booed when Capuaba SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nilton Fernandez didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 31 minutes, Isaltino Alcântara mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Capuaba SS and the Lanca EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Capuaba SS getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Isaltino Alcântara hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Andrézinho Viana managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lanca EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Andrézinho Viana was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edgard de Sena breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Isaltino Alcântara got free with Jaime Porto in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andrézinho Viana in the 45th minute of play forced Capuaba SS's goalkeeper Edgard de Sena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Pedrinho Bueno scored 1-1 in the 52nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jaime Porto, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 55 minutes into the match, Dieguinho Rezende had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jaime Porto. The crowd rose to their feet as Lanca EC's Andrézinho Viana slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Edgard de Sena. That made the score 2-2 after 60 minutes of play. In the 64th minute Andrézinho Viana shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edgard de Sena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jaime Porto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dieguinho Rezende, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. Jaime Porto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedrinho Bueno in the 79th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Durval Meireles during the 82nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. If Dieguinho Rezende had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
