The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Manfredo da Fonseca succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-1 in the 57th playminute. Juranda SC's Rafael Pires played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Augusto Bezerra in the 68th minute of play. Alfredo dos Santos's late challenge caught a Juranda SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Enio Almeida hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. The supporters of Reriutaba SS booed when Juranda SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Silvinho Sarmento didn't get a good kick on the ball. Juranda SC's Manfredo da Fonseca got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Juranda SC were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
