Spectators: 6641 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1641, VIP seats: 0) Joga Bonito FC's Lúcio Maia started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, Joga Bonito FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ademar Salles came free, but Nilson Cardoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 3rd minute, Rafael Vasconcelos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Guilherme Galvão in the 9th minute of play forced GREMIO's goalkeeper Edu Costa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lúcio Maia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Edu Costa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the last second Edu Costa throw himself and got hold of the ball when Guilherme Galvão in the 13thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Edu Costa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Guilherme Galvão, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 19 played minutes GREMIO got a freekick which was hit by César Braga. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lúcio Maia got free with Edu Costa in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 21 minutes into the game, GREMIO's Kauan Vides nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nilson Cardoso made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. The supporters of Joga Bonito FC booed when GREMIO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patrick Guedes didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Lúcio Maia came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Joga Bonito FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lúcio Maia couldn't finish the play. Guilherme Galvão came free with the goalkeeper in the 35th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Edu Costa could save by the left post. Edu Costa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hortêncio de Senna, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Edu Costa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hortêncio de Senna in the 43rd minute of play. In the 44th minute, Lúcio Maia ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Edu Costa was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Lúcio Maia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Joga Bonito FC's Alfredinho Loyola was substituted for Rafael Vasconcelos. Vicente Ortiz kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. In the 73rd match minute, Joga Bonito FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oscar Araújo to maneuver through the defense. 74 minutes into the match, Diamantino da Silva sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Nilson Cardoso threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Diamantino da Silva this time. 77 minutes into the match, Guilherme Galvão notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of GREMIO's Edu Costa. Edu Costa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hortêncio de Senna in the 82nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Edu Costa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 83rd match minute, GREMIO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Matheus Almeida to maneuver through the defense. After recieving a nice pass, Joga Bonito FC's Alfredinho Loyola tried to score from far away in the 84th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Lúcio Maia scored 4-1 in the 86th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Edu Costa, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 91 minutes into the match, GREMIO's goal looked a bit too open when Hortêncio de Senna came free, but Edu Costa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 95thth minute of the game Hortêncio de Senna who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but GREMIO's Edu Costa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 96 minutes, Joaquim Montenegro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the GREMIO and the Joga Bonito FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Joaquim Montenegro hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Joga Bonito FC had played much better football throughout.
