Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Wellington Cosme kicked off to start the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dênis Terra during the 3rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 4th minute, Dênis Terra hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alex Paranaense recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 5th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Araguary booed when Fluminense Football Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Osvaldo Simão didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hernani Corrêa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Diamantino Breckenfeld in the 12th minute. Dênis Terra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hamílton Mesquita having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Araguary's João Francisco Gerber got a free kick in the 18th minute. José Paulo Linhares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hernani Corrêa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from João Francisco Gerber in the 21st minute of play. Simão Toscano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Hernani Corrêa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jerônimo Gaspar went, in the 28th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Wellington Cosme took the ball and in the 31 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hamílton Mesquita. Hamílton Mesquita dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Wellington Cosme received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Hamílton Mesquita tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Simão Toscano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Dênis Terra blasted a shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Hamílton Mesquita having to make a save. Wellington Cosme received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Hamílton Mesquita tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hamílton Mesquita came out of the goal in the 44th minute to try and stop a shot by Fluminense Football Club's Wellington Cosme. But to his dismay, Wellington Cosme quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Lucio Guillelme hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. After the first half Fluminense Football Club were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell João Francisco Gerber to make the kick off. Diogo Soares hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. In the 54th minute, Alex Paranaense sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Fluminense Football Club's Hernani Corrêa didn't even have to move. 56 minutes into the match, Wellington Cosme had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Hamílton Mesquita. Araguary's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Wellington Cosme was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. Hernani Corrêa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Diamantino Breckenfeld, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Fluminense Football Club defense, Jerônimo Gaspar kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hernani Corrêa. The Fluminense Football Club fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hernani Corrêa should have stopped the shot. João Adolfo Guedes charged in rather forcefully in the 65th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed João Adolfo Guedes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a defensive mix-up in Araguary's zone, Wellington Cosme stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hamílton Mesquita came out of the goal and Wellington Cosme tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Régis Aparecido's late challenge caught a Fluminense Football Club's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Régis Aparecido helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Araguary's Régis Aparecido got a free kick in the 68th minute. In the 69th minute, Simão Toscano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Simão Toscano in the 75th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hamílton Mesquita saved Araguary from getting behind. The crowd rose to their feet as Fluminense Football Club's Wellington Cosme slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Hamílton Mesquita. That made the score 2-4 after 76 minutes of play. Dênis Terra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hamílton Mesquita having to interfere. In the 86th minute Dênis Terra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hamílton Mesquita saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 93rd minute Régis Aparecido shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hernani Corrêa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fluminense Football Club's Hernani Corrêa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Diamantino Breckenfeld in the 95th minute of play. If Wellington Cosme had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fluminense Football Club played a much better game than Araguary and deserved their victory. The Araguary players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
