When the match clock showed 10 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Wellington Cosme sped through Bartoloz's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Paulo Macedo. Paulo Macedo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wellington Cosme, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Paulo Macedo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Simão Toscano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Wellington Cosme got free with Paulo Macedo in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wellington Cosme in the 21st minute of play forced Bartoloz's goalkeeper Paulo Macedo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fluminense Football Club's Wellington Cosme was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 23rd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Paulo Macedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Simão Toscano in the 27th minute of play. The supporters of Fluminense Football Club booed when Bartoloz was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iuri Brasil didn't get a good kick on the ball. José Paulo Linhares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Paulo Macedo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Paulo Macedo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Simão Toscano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Fluminense Football Club defense, Pedro Augusto Vidal kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hernani Corrêa. The Fluminense Football Club fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hernani Corrêa should have stopped the shot. Paulo Macedo was a little too slow when Wellington Cosme got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 38th minute. The score was now 4-1. A collision led to Bartoloz getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Iuri Brasil hit a great ball.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Oséas Moreira stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Simão Toscano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Paulo Macedo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Bartoloz's zone, José Paulo Linhares stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Paulo Macedo came out of the goal and José Paulo Linhares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dênis Terra in the 77th minute of play forced Bartoloz's goalkeeper Paulo Macedo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 78 played minutes Bartoloz got a freekick which was hit by Iuri Brasil. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wellington Cosme in the 79th minute of play forced Bartoloz's goalkeeper Paulo Macedo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. But to his dismay, Osvaldo Simão quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-1. 95 minutes into the match, Bartoloz's goal looked a bit too open when Wellington Cosme came free, but Paulo Macedo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Paulo Macedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Simão Toscano in the 96th minute of play. When the referee ended the match the Fluminense Football Club players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
