Spectators: 6678 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1678, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. João Vieira started the match with the kick off. Enéas Quaresma's late challenge caught a Itaiba AD's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Enéas Quaresma helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Meriruma getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Enéas Quaresma hit a great ball. Ezequiel Monteiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ernesto de Brito, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 7 minutes into the match, Meriruma's goalkeeper Ezequiel Monteiro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Vânderson Rosa. Ezequiel Monteiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ernesto de Brito in the 9th minute of play. In the 12th minute Frederico Arósio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fulvio Cammarota saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Walmir Lago hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Fulvio Cammarota came out of the goal in the 17th minute to try and stop a shot by Meriruma's João Vieira. But to his dismay, João Vieira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. 20 minutes into the game, Wanderson Sá was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Itaiba AD's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Meriruma the free kick. Wanderson Sá hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. After 21 minutes, João Vieira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Meriruma and the Itaiba AD players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Itaiba AD booed when Meriruma was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. João Vieira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Itaiba AD's Fulvio Cammarota played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Vieira in the 23rd minute of play. After having played for 24 minutes, Frederico Arósio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Meriruma's supporters crossed their fingers, but Frederico Arósio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Vânderson Rosa might have been able to make a better finish in the 32nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ezequiel Monteiro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Vânderson Rosa ran back to his position shaking his head. Vânderson Rosa had several of the Meriruma's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 34 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-1 score and a disappointed Ezequiel Monteiro as he didn't even see the shot coming. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Leopoldo Dias during the 39th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Leopoldo Dias hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. When Ernesto de Brito came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Itaiba AD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ernesto de Brito couldn't finish the play. Meriruma's defense didn't have a chance, in the 41st minute, when Vânderson Rosa scored to the left of an out of position Ezequiel Monteiro, making the score, 2-1.

The wind increased when Ernesto de Brito made the kick off in the second half. Ernesto de Brito's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ezequiel Monteiro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play. Frederico Arósio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Fulvio Cammarota tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Meriruma getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. João Vieira hit a great ball. 61 minutes into the match, Meriruma's goal looked a bit too open when Paulinho Nascimento came free, but Ezequiel Monteiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ernesto de Brito blasted a shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ezequiel Monteiro having to make a save. In the 68th minute, Paulinho Nascimento ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ezequiel Monteiro was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. In the 75th minute Paulinho Nascimento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ezequiel Monteiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Ernesto de Brito's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ezequiel Monteiro was relentless in the 76th minute of the game. When Frederico Arósio fell near the penalty area in the 79th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Meriruma's protests and gave Frederico Arósio a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Itaiba AD booed when Meriruma was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frederico Arósio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ezequiel Monteiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ernesto de Brito in the 83rd minute of the match. After 85 minutes of play Meriruma's Enéas Quaresma was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. The supporters of Itaiba AD booed when Meriruma was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Enéas Quaresma didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ernesto de Brito sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ernesto de Brito in the 90th minute of play forced Meriruma's goalkeeper Ezequiel Monteiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ernesto de Brito blasted a shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ezequiel Monteiro having to make a save. In the 96th match minute, Itaiba AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Walmir Lago to maneuver through the defense. Itaiba AD's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
