Tiago Gabriel da Silva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 1-0 became the score in the 6th minute when Geraldo Zilles elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 9th match minute, Matilde FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Haroldo Fontes to maneuver through the defense. Manfredo Moraes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tiago Gabriel da Silva having to make a save. The audience was convinced that Álvaro Eger's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tiago Gabriel da Silva was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. Petere F.C's defense didn't have a chance, in the 17th minute, when Haroldo Fontes scored to the left of an out of position Fernão Recife, making the score, 2-0. Matilde FC's Geraldo Zilles was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 27th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. After 31 minutes, Alexandre Pimenta mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Matilde FC and the Petere F.C players grew even worse after the yellow card. 33 minutes into the match, Petere F.C's goalkeeper Fernão Recife had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jacinto Almeida. Tiago Gabriel da Silva showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Álvaro Eger in the 37th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Matilde FC's zone, Manfredo Moraes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tiago Gabriel da Silva came out of the goal and Manfredo Moraes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Álvaro Eger in the 42nd minute of play forced Matilde FC's goalkeeper Tiago Gabriel da Silva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Geraldo Zilles made a kick off. With a little luck, Matilde FC's Tiago Gabriel da Silva got control of the ball when Manfredo Moraes tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 58 minutes of play, Matilde FC's Geraldo Zilles made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fernão Recife was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Manfredo Moraes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fernão Recife took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Geraldo Zilles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Petere F.C's Rafael do Valle got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rafael do Valle struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Tiago Gabriel da Silva didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Petere F.C. After having played for 88 minutes, Álvaro Eger managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Petere F.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Álvaro Eger was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
