With a little luck, Carandina's Artur Catarinense got control of the ball when Hernani de Queiroz tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 8 played minutes Carandina got a freekick which was hit by Claudinei Recife. After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Hernani de Queiroz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pupuri's supporters rose to their feet, but Hernani de Queiroz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Artur Catarinense breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Cícero Marques had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Pupuri booed when Carandina was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Noel Miranda didn't get a good kick on the ball. Artur Catarinense didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 19th minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. In the 22ndth minute of the game Enrique Mineiro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Pupuri's Ronaldão Maia was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some careless play in the Carandina defense, Cícero Marques kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Artur Catarinense. The Carandina fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Artur Catarinense should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sidney Neves in the 31st minute of play forced Pupuri's goalkeeper Ronaldão Maia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 40th minute, Celso Paraíba got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 44 minutes into the match, Carandina's Enrique Mineiro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ronaldão Maia narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 61st minute, Celso Paraíba left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Pupuri fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. Sidney Neves recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Enrique Mineiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pupuri's defense didn't have a chance, in the 75th minute, when Sidney Neves scored to the left of an out of position Ronaldão Maia, making the score, 3-2.
