In the 16th minute the ball was on its way in behind Quarteis's goalkeeper João Adolfo Cearense, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Haroldo Viana in the 21st minute of play forced Quarteis's goalkeeper João Adolfo Cearense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Evaristo Abraão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Eduardo Monteiro having to interfere. Quarteis's Evaristo Abraão got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. João Adolfo Cearense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Haroldo Viana, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Victor Velloso to make the kick off. When Haroldo Viana came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Chernobyll fans jumped to their feet. It was beautiful to see Chernobyll's César Guedes in action when he in the 68th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! The audience was convinced that Evaristo Abraão's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Luís Eduardo Monteiro was relentless in the 71st minute of the game. Júnior Queiroz took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 95th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for João Adolfo Cearense. Quarteis's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Quarteis's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
