Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) São Paulo FC's Dudu Proença started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute, Paulo José Mello reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Douglas Pombal. The goal made the score 1-0. Douglas Pombal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulo José Mello, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 9th minute, Adilson Teixeira left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The São Paulo FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Pococs's Xavier Lucan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dudu Proença in the 13th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when João Pedro Alcântara got free with Douglas Pombal in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Xavier Lucan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jailson Trigo, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Xavier Lucan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jailson Trigo in the 21st minute of play. Douglas Pombal stood somewhat misplaced when João Pedro Alcântara came free in front of goal and shot 2-1 to the left of him in the 23 minute. When Adilson Teixeira came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the São Paulo FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adilson Teixeira couldn't finish the play. 31 minutes into the match, Pococs's goal looked a bit too open when César Severo came free, but Xavier Lucan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. São Paulo FC's Douglas Pombal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Pedro Alcântara in the 35th minute of play. Paulo José Mello sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Pococs defense, Adilson Teixeira kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Xavier Lucan. The Pococs fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Xavier Lucan should have stopped the shot.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Paulo José Mello to strike the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the game, Adilson Teixeira cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-3. Xavier Lucan was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Xavier Lucan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Adilson Teixeira in the 58th minute. The supporters of São Paulo FC booed when Pococs was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hélder Queiroz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Emerson Albuquerque took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 60th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Xavier Lucan. Pococs's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Paulo José Mello's late challenge caught a São Paulo FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Paulo José Mello helped the player get up and apologised. In the 61st match minute, Pococs was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paulo José Mello to maneuver through the defense. Pococs's Xavier Lucan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 62nd minute of the match, managed to save Pococs from getting a goal against them. Sidnei Veiga hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Xavier Lucan was out of position in the 88 minute of play, and Dudu Proença capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Dudu Proença really showed his touch with that goal: 2-4. Douglas Pombal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulo José Mello in the 95th minute of the match. In the 96th minute João Pedro Alcântara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Douglas Pombal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Pococs fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. São Paulo FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
