Spectators: 7208 (Terracing: 5408, Seating: 1657, VIP seats: 143) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Celso Mello took the kick off in the first half of the match. With his leg Artur dos Santos managed to avoid a goal in the 4thth minute, when C.A MATOGROSSENSE's Carlos Augusto Hoffmann fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. If Celso Mello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 24 minutes, Marcelinho Paraense took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Artur dos Santos to make any attempt to save it. Artur dos Santos made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Benê do Vale sent off a good shot on target. Celso Mello received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Pedrinho Gaspar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. C.A MATOGROSSENSE's Pedrinho Gaspar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Celso Mello in the 38th minute of play. Carlos Augusto Hoffmann scored 2-0 in the 40th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Artur dos Santos, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Itacurussa's Adrianinho Gerber managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Deivid Varela in the 44 minute of the game. If Evaristo Alvarenga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Giuseppe Miranda in the 47th minute of play forced Itacurussa's goalkeeper Artur dos Santos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Giuseppe Miranda made a kick off. Artur dos Santos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Augusto Hoffmann in the 52nd minute of play. José Pedro Urbano hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Hudson Simões took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 56th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Artur dos Santos. Itacurussa's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 57th minute, Benê do Vale ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Artur dos Santos was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Itacurussa's Artur dos Santos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcelinho Paraense in the 61st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Augusto Hoffmann in the 66th minute of play forced Itacurussa's goalkeeper Artur dos Santos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Artur dos Santos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcelinho Paraense in the 67th minute of the match. 70 minutes into the match, Marcelinho Paraense notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of Itacurussa's Artur dos Santos. Artur dos Santos was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 76th minute Carlos Augusto Hoffmann shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Artur dos Santos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Celso Mello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Itacurussa getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Celso Mello hit a great ball. Artur dos Santos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Augusto Hoffmann, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. After a defensive mix-up in C.A MATOGROSSENSE's zone, Celso Mello stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pedrinho Gaspar came out of the goal and Celso Mello tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 87 played minutes C.A MATOGROSSENSE got a freekick which was hit by Hudson Simões. In the 92nd minute Carlos Augusto Hoffmann shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Artur dos Santos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
