The referee ignored Lagedinho's protests and gave Gilvan Gerber a yellow card for diving instead. In the 8th match minute, Lagedinho was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gilvan Gerber to maneuver through the defense. 18 minutes into the match, Vila Rica EC's goal looked a bit too open when Ulisses Falcão came free, but Wágner Correia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ulisses Falcão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Umberto Lara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Wágner Correia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Umberto Lara had several of the Vila Rica EC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 38 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-0 score and a disappointed Wágner Correia as he didn't even see the shot coming. In the 41st minute the ball was on its way in behind Vila Rica EC's goalkeeper Wágner Correia, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Umberto Lara struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Wágner Correia didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lagedinho. Wágner Correia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ulisses Falcão in the 45th minute of play.

After 56 minutes, Gláuber Siqueira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lagedinho and the Vila Rica EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 56th minute, Gláuber Siqueira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Umberto Lara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wágner Correia having to interfere. Wágner Correia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ulisses Falcão, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. In the 79th minute, Emanuel Soares fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Jorge Ramalho, passed just outside the right post. After a rather tough play, Vila Rica EC's Lúcio Mesquita got a free kick in the 82nd minute. Umberto Lara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
