Filadelfia SC's João Carlos Vides got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 16 minutes into the match, Caxias's goal looked a bit too open when João Carlos Vides came free, but Tales Bertassi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. João Carlos Vides fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tales Bertassi having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gildo Lima in the 32nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Vânderson Carneiro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Filadelfia SC's Vânderson Carneiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcelinho Dias in the 34th minute of play. Gildo Lima sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Filadelfia SC's João Carlos Vides in the 42nd minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Tales Bertassi was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Caxias through an amazing save. The audience was convinced that João Carlos Vides's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tales Bertassi was relentless in the 44th minute of the game. João Carlos Vides received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Tales Bertassi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

55 minutes into the match, Rodriguinho Donato notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Caxias's Tales Bertassi. Tales Bertassi was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. With an all-out effort, Caxias's Vânderson Carneiro threw himself towards the right post 59 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Gildo Lima, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Filadelfia SC's Vânderson Carneiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gildo Lima in the 62nd minute of play. 63 minutes into the game, Eriberto Palmeira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Filadelfia SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Caxias the free kick. Eriberto Palmeira kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. 64 minutes into the match, Gildo Lima had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Vânderson Carneiro. Filadelfia SC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gildo Lima was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. In the 68th minute, Marcelinho Dias reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Vânderson Carneiro. The goal made the score 1-2. Tales Bertassi came out of the goal in the 73rd minute to try and stop a shot by Filadelfia SC's João Carlos Vides. But to his dismay, João Carlos Vides quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. If João Carlos Vides had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. José Pedro Costa kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. Filadelfia SC's Moisés Proença couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 86th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Caxias. Roger Fernandez hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. In the 94th minute, Gildo Lima fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
