After 5 played minutes Cerebrande got a freekick which was hit by Marco de Lima. Tadeu Arruda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Márcio Cardozo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Cerebrande's Tadeu Arruda slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Márcio Cardozo. That made the score 1-0 after 9 minutes of play. If Marco de Lima had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tadeu Arruda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Márcio Cardozo having to interfere. Elano Machado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Germano de Lara in the 30th minute of the match. Luís Fábio de Toledo might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Elano Machado. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luís Fábio de Toledo ran back to his position shaking his head. After a defensive mix-up in Cerebrande's zone, Germano de Lara stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Elano Machado came out of the goal and Germano de Lara tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Márcio Cardozo was a little too slow when Dedê Soeiro got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 39th minute. The score was now 2-0. Ronaldão de Senna received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Márcio Cardozo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Márcio Cardozo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dedê Soeiro in the 46th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tadeu Arruda to make the kick off. Dedê Soeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Márcio Cardozo having to interfere. In the 59th minute, Ronaldão de Senna ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Márcio Cardozo was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. If Tadeu Arruda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 65th minute, Marco de Lima got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dedê Soeiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tadeu Arruda fired away a difficult shot at goal in the 69th minute. He almost succeeded, but the ball went over. It was a very nice shot. Mathias Cunha recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tadeu Arruda came free in the 76th minute and tried to tip the ball over Márcio Cardozo, but to the joy of ROSÁRIO F.C's supporters the ball went over. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Edgard Miranda during the 79th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Edgard Miranda kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in ROSÁRIO F.C's zone, Tadeu Arruda stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Márcio Cardozo came out of the goal and Tadeu Arruda tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 87th minute, Marco de Lima got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. It was beautiful to see Cerebrande's Erasmo Botelho in action when he in the 96th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Cerebrande had played much better football throughout.
