After 25 played minutes Commerciale FC got a freekick which was hit by Oséas Lago. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sílvio Luiz Paiva during the 33rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 33rd match minute, Commerciale FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sílvio Luiz Paiva to maneuver through the defense. Commerciale FC's Válbson Hermes was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Adilson de Salles in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Nildo Braga could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 48th minute of the match, but Cafu Kimmich made a huge save. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Hernani Gaspar was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Aventureio's zone, Luiz Fernando Cunha stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Erivaldo Arruda managed to get in a good position for a shot. Commerciale FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Erivaldo Arruda was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Adilson de Salles breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gilson Hermes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 83rd play minute Luiz Fernando Cunha came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Adilson de Salles. 1-1. After having played for 88 minutes, Luiz Fernando Cunha managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Commerciale FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luiz Fernando Cunha was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Gilson Hermes came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Commerciale FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gilson Hermes couldn't finish the play. Commerciale FC were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
